Terms of Use
Last updated: October 30, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Maple One website, the Maple One apps and the ride and connected-trip services offered through them. They form an agreement between you and Maple Canada Technologies Inc. (“Maple One”, “we”, “us”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account, booking a trip or using our website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Our services
Maple One is a technology platform that connects riders with drivers for direct rides and for first-mile and last-mile rides to and from transit, and helps you plan and book connected trips that combine those rides with intercity or local public transit.
Public transit legs (for example, an Ontario Northland bus or train, or a municipal transit route) are operated by the transit carrier, not by Maple One. When you travel on transit, the carrier’s own tariff, conditions of carriage and refund rules apply to that leg.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and device secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person, one account. Accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.
3. Booking trips
Before you confirm, the app shows the price, the estimated times and, for connected trips, each leg of the journey. When you confirm, you authorize us to book every leg shown, including the transit fare where the carrier supports booking through Maple One.
Times are estimates. Road, weather and transit conditions in Northern Ontario can change quickly, and we cannot guarantee arrival times.
4. Connected trips, delays and cancellations by transit
- If your bus or train runs late, your last-mile pickup moves automatically with it. You are never charged waiting time caused by a transit delay.
- If you miss a connection because your first-mile ride was late, we will rebook your next leg or offer a direct ride at no extra cost for the affected leg.
- If a transit trip is cancelled, including for weather, we will offer you a direct ride or a full refund of the affected Maple One legs. Refunds of transit fares follow the carrier’s rules, and we will help you request them.
5. Fares, payment and tips
- Prices are in Canadian dollars and include applicable taxes unless the app says otherwise.
- The price shown when you book is the price you pay, unless you change the trip (for example, add a stop or change the destination), or extra charges below apply.
- One charge to your saved payment method covers every leg of a booked trip.
- Extra charges may apply for cleaning or damage caused by a rider, or for waiting more than the grace period shown in the app when the delay is not caused by transit. We will tell you before charging.
- Tips are optional and 100% go to your driver.
6. Cancellations and refunds
- You may cancel free of charge up to 2 minutes after booking, or at any time before a driver is dispatched.
- After that, a cancellation fee shown in the app may apply. A no-show fee may apply if your driver waits at the pickup point and you do not arrive.
- Connected trips can be cancelled leg by leg.
- Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days.
- Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or cancellation right you have under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002.
7. Rider responsibilities
When you ride with Maple One, you agree to:
- treat drivers, other riders and transit staff with respect, and follow your driver’s reasonable safety instructions;
- wear a seatbelt, and make sure children travel in a car seat or booster as required by Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act (request one in the app when available, or bring your own);
- not smoke, vape or use cannabis in the vehicle, and not carry open alcohol;
- not bring weapons, illegal items or anything dangerous;
- pay for damage or cleaning you cause.
Minors may ride only when an adult account holder books the trip and accepts responsibility for them. Service animals are always welcome.
8. Accessibility
We are committed to accessible service in line with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). You can request a wheelchair-accessible vehicle where available in your region, set accessibility preferences once in the app, and we will route connected trips through accessible stations where possible. To give feedback or request information in an accessible format, contact support@maplerides.com.
9. Drivers
Drivers must meet our requirements and all applicable Ontario and municipal rules for vehicle-for-hire drivers, including licensing, insurance and vehicle inspections. Drivers use the platform under a separate Driver Agreement, which governs their relationship with Maple One. Applying through this website does not create an agreement until you are approved.
10. Safety
In an emergency, call 911. The app includes in-trip safety tools, and you can report a safety concern to us at any time. We may suspend accounts while we investigate reports of unsafe behaviour or breaches of these Terms.
11. Acceptable use of our website and apps
You may not misuse our services, including by: interfering with or disrupting them; accessing them by automated means such as scraping; reverse-engineering the apps except as the law allows; creating false bookings or accounts; or using them for any unlawful purpose.
12. Intellectual property
The Maple One name, logos, apps, website and their content are owned by Maple Canada Technologies Inc. or its licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the apps to access our services. No other rights are granted.
13. Third-party services
Our services rely on third parties such as transit carriers, payment processors and map providers. We are not responsible for their services, websites or content, and their own terms may apply to you.
14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our website and apps are provided “as is”, and we do not guarantee that they will always be available or error-free.
To the extent permitted by law, Maple One is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the trip giving rise to the claim and $100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your rights as a consumer under Ontario law.
15. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time from the app or by contacting us. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, puts others at risk, or is used fraudulently. Amounts owing for completed trips remain payable.
16. Changes to the services and these Terms
We may change our services and these Terms from time to time, for example as we launch in new communities. We will post the updated Terms here with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the services after that, you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and language
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be heard by the courts of Ontario, unless the law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
These Terms are available in English and French. Both versions are equally authoritative.
